Applying for Financial Assistance
We are committed to making the Hotchkiss experience available to as many families as possible and look forward to working with you.
In early fall, the Hotchkiss Office of Financial Assistance mails the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) form to returning families and families who request financial assistance information.
New applicants may request the PFS by filling out the Online Inquiry Form, contacting the Office of Financial Assistance at (860) 435-3110, or by completing the PFS online. In addition to completing the PFS, international families must also complete the Hotchkiss International Financial Assistance Form. Families can obtain a form by either downloading the Hotchkiss International Financial Assistance Form (PDF, 85K) or contacting the Office of Financial Assistance.
Deadlines
January 31, 2008, is the deadline for filing all forms and
documentation for financial assistance. Please make copies of
all documentation for your records and use estimates as necessary.
Required Forms
Parents' Financial Statement (PFS)
Complete this form, listing Hotchkiss as a recipient of the analysis.
(Hotchkiss's school code is 4012.) Send the original to School and
Student Services (SSS) for Financial Aid in the envelope provided with
the form.
(If your 2007 tax forms are not prepared by the application deadline,
then use estimates on the PFS, and send copies of the final tax forms
to Hotchkiss once they are complete.)
Hotchkiss International Financial Assistance Form
Complete this form and send the original to the Office of Financial
Assistance.

Financial Documentation
Submit a photocopy of your completed 2006 and 2007 tax returns with all
schedules and W-2s (or for international families, proof of income and
tax forms) to the Hotchkiss School Office of Financial Assistance. Final
assistance awards will not be granted until we receive a copy of current
tax forms or appropriate documentation.
Additional Forms
Business/Farm Statement
If you are self-employed or if you own a business or a farm, please
complete and submit the Business/Farm Statement to the Hotchkiss Office of Financial Assistance.
Financial Statement for Parents Who Are Separated or Divorced
or Have Never Been Married
If the PFS does not contain information for both natural parents,
the non-custodial parent must also complete a separate PFS. Awards
cannot be made without complete financial documentation, including
copies of all tax forms with all schedules and W-2s, from both
natural parents. Please contact our office at (860) 435-3110 to
obtain this form.
